STEP 7:
Working in the side front quadrant; take a large zig zag parting that is diagonally forward. Take a slice parting off the zig zag; tease the base and apply Formula 1 shifting your developer up 5 Volume. The thickness of your sections will determine the amount of contrast created.

STEP 8:
Continue working up the side section. With each new parting, your zig zags will increase to create more contrast.

STEP 9:
Once the side is completed, repeat on the other side. Shift your developer up 5 Volume. As you work up towards the top of the head, tease less. This will create a higher contrast finish. Braid the left-out hair for control and a cool processing look that creates interest in the salon.

STEP 10:
Working in the back quadrant off a diagonal forward parting at the hair line, take a large zig zag, slice the zig-zag, tease the base more towards the center back and apply Formula 1. Shift your developer up 5 Volume.

STEP 11:
Continue working in the same method up the back quadrant. Your zig-zags should increase as you work up towards the top with your teasing becoming less and less. Make sure to feather your formula at the base to create a seamless blend. Repeat on the other side shifting your developer up one last time 5 Volume.
